Best Life 2010 Day 181: Strange Day

Today got off to quite a strange start: Lexi woke up at like 5 am (for no reason) and I couldn't get her back to sleep; I stayed up with her until around 930 when her mom woke up, and then I went back to bed and slept into the afternoon.
The LATE afternoon!
Needless to say, my day was kinda scrambled.

Oprah voting ended today, now they have to cut down however many people uploaded videos and showed up for live casting calls down to 40 (the people with the top 5 votes are guaranteed a place, so 35 more out of the total pool).
Needless to say I hope to hear something soon, but either way it's in God's hands now. I made the best video I could make, and did the best I could at the live audition; I'm going to put the whole thing out of my mind now and keep moving on to the next thing.

I hope all of my American Brothers and Sisters have a safe and happy 4th of July, and for everyone else, enjoy the rest of your weekend!

And remember:
Never give up, never give up, never ever ever give up.

Most men make little use of their speech than to give evidence against their own understanding.
-George Savile

The Eagle and the Arrow (Aesop's Fables)

An Eagle was soaring through the air when suddenly it heard
the whizz of an Arrow, and felt itself wounded to death. Slowly
it fluttered down to the earth, with its life-blood pouring out of
it. Looking down upon the Arrow with which it had been pierced,
it found that the shaft of the Arrow had been feathered with one
of its own plumes. "Alas!" it cried, as it died,

"We often give our enemies the means for our own destruction."

Best Life 2010 Day 180: 180 degrees!

VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE!!!!!

Right when I got used to my internet conking out at midnight, today it went out at 6 pm!
I'm glad that I got my coaching email(s) sent out before it did; if it doesn't kick back in before too long I guess I'm going to call it an early night!

Well today marks the end of my 6 months, but not the end of my journey...or this blog!

Apparently things went *quite * well on the radio yesterday, since they wanted me back on today! Unfortunately I was already tied up for the afternoon, but I hope to get back on the airwaves soon!

One thing I took from the experience is I DEFINITELY want to be in the radio and / or tv biz!

Hopefully that break is coming soon; the rules for the Oprah contest said the final casting shoot would be "12 days in the month of July" so if the voting ends on July 3 I'd hope to hear something by what, the 10th? 15Th?

Either way, fingers crossed!

My time is coming soon, if not through this opportunity than through another one. If it takes 9 or 12 months instead of 6, or even a year or more I'll take it.
What is meant for me is for me, and nothing and no one can stop it!

And remember:
Never give up, never give up, never ever ever give up.

Best Life 2010 Day 179: New Day Dawning

I did my very first radio call in interview today, on www.wlllradio.com today; and had a BLAST.
The whole experience is actually kinda a blur for me; I was just answering questions to the best of my ability; but word is from the people who heard it that I did a good job!
Hopefully it will open the door for me to do some more radio work in the very near future.

Beyond that it was a good day, with some unexpected blessings. Heading into a long weekend, but I have nothing but work ahead!

That's ok...since I love what I do. O=)

(Don't forget: LAST WEEK for Oprah auditions, so please vote (you can do it many times, on multiple days); if you aren't a US Resident please leave a comment!)

Hey Dave - Can you discuss whether a relationship where one partner has extreme self-centeredness could ever truly end in love? My ex had a huge (almost sociopathic) issue with this so my answer is no but I wanted to get your take on it.

I wrote an article previously about a woman who's in love with a Narcissist; the answer I gave her is the answer I give you:
